wearing thrifted dresses, topshop denim jacket, old school coach backpack "borrowed" from my mom, nastygal velvet blazer.

Always adore visits to New York.  There is a magical feel about the city.  I spent a quick three days of splendid madness with family and friends that included; midnight snacks of pizza and gelato upon arrival, delish Brazilian food in soho, hello kitty band aids, pink lemonade stands, the Brooklyn flea market, rooftop bloody mary's, discovering the loveliness of my new favorite vintage shop, performance art at moma, burgers in the park, topshop, learning that grocery stores do not carry wine or any other alcohol in Manhattan, walkingwalkingwalking until my feet literally couldn't take another step, having a homemade "family" dinner our last evening that included the best dessert you can have- cookies and mint chip ice cream.

My sweet little list of random Summer time wishes!




*Eat strawberry popsicles in a garden on a hot day


*Pack a picnic of baguettes, brie cheese, & champagne and spend the afternoon at your favorite beach or park


*Take all the clothes you never wear out of the closet, & shred, dye, paint, sew them into something new and fun


*Take spontaneous weekend trips to places like Catalina, Palm Springs, Mendocino, and Calistoga, and stay at cute bed & breakfast cottages


*Dress up in old fashioned 1950's swim suites and take pin up photos with your girlfriends


*Buy graham crackers, chocolate & marshmallows, bundle up, and head to the beach one evening for a scary story telling bonfire


*Take mini road trips to places like the botanical gardens in Santa Barbara, the palace of fine arts in San Francisco, the Getty villa in Malibu.


*Find recipes for all your favorite baked treats and have a garden tea party, & tell all your friends to wear flowing dresses and flowers & feathers in their hair


*Find new farmer's markets to go to every weekend, where you can find beautiful flowers, fresh, locally grown fruits & veggies, and nibble on honey sticks.


*Put vases of all colors and sizes throughout your house and fill them with  different colorful flowers


*Have friends over at night and play games like Clue, Twister, and pick-up sticks, while consuming wine and your favorite cheese store goodies


*Find swings to go to on a beach


*Get up early one morning and make delicious breakfast in bed for someone special


*Go to used bookstores or libraries and pick up copies of your favorite guilty pleasure books such as "The Time Traveller's Wife", "Love in the time of Cholera" and "The Bridges of Madison County" and sit at coffee shops or park benches and just read for hours


*Go on a camping trip near or on a beach


*Try finding a drive-in movie theatre nearby or go to the Hollywood Forever cemetery for an outdoor movie and picnic under the stars


*Go to local flea markets and thrift shops and look for unique odds and ends to redecorate your house with


*Go on long walks and sunset hikes 


*Spoil yourself by purchasing all your favorite fashion magazines and tearing out the best inspiration to clip on cork boards around your house


*Wear your hair long and slip on flowing dresses and skirts with jelly sandals and fun bright lipstick shades


*Attend at least one music festival and take countless photos with your friends


*Spend a full beauty day with your best friends featuring at-home manicures, face masks, and girlie movies while wearing big fluffy bath robes
