I love the idea of pieces from the hardware store worn as jewelry.  I've seen copper and brass worn as rings, cuffs, and hair accessories, which is why I couldn't resist when running into my tiny, local hardware shop the other day.  The best part is that this copper "tube" actually keeps my hair in a ponytail for a while instead of slipping off.  The weather can't seem to make up its mind today so I'm running out the door for errands before it decides to rain!
